I have placed you at the centre of the world

so that from that point you might

see better what is in the world.

I have made you neither heavenly nor earthly, neither mortal nor immortal, so that

like a free and sovereign artificer

you might mould and fashion yourself

into that form you yourself

shall have chosen.

Good stories are the currency of the dreamer, the traveler, the aficionado, the apprentice, the customer, the congregant. Rare ones, stories that is, can seal a forever-bond between Teller and Listener, twinning them in union. Few places today marry the printer and the bookshop. So when Vincent Edmunds met Austina Reed 15 years ago and he proposed marriage and she accepted, their partnership sparked just this kind of union. Together, they produce ways to circulate clear and clever writing where it is most needed in rural communities.

ABOUT US

Austina Reed, PhD, a native Hoosier and Pisces primed for cycles, dreams about a life well-lived chasing the secrets of so-called alchemy. The sanctity and the sacrifice of putting pen to paper; Austina believes the published author has the power to solve life’s impossible equation, transfiguring humble minutia into golden legacy and revealing ways of the good life. She is the rare political economist with an eye for localism’s ebb and flow. The twinning role of bookshop proprietress and writer is simply an extension of Austina’s curious being.

Vincent Edmunds crafts entrepreneurial perfection. A fickle condition, entrepreneurialism, Vincent coaxes acumen and creativity to play nicely together; it is of his Southern gentlemanly nature to know how to tame risk. But so too does the swashbuckler live within Vincent who is constantly wrestling the specter of adventure; his homestead’s river led him not to the eastern shore to settle but rather the western expanse for exploring. The  horizon, Vincent finds, reveals the crossroads where grace meets fortune and skill.

Reed-Edmunds, LLC dba Aces+

Together these two, through Reed-Edmunds, LLC are yin and yang in embodied spirit. The power of apprenticeship, the love of reading; if chivalrous Don Quixote were to find his elusive Dulcinea in 2026, the modern-day setting is a two-story brick building on Main Street in Peru, Indiana. This tale of Vincent and Austina’s will-to-succeed promises a denouement that sweeps silliness out of existence so that the ideal – craftsmanship, literacy, quietude, connection – can flourish. Only the truly confident can see their dream and be part of it. Such is the nature of calling, of stewardship, of tenacity.
